Audit Manager

Location: Remote
Work Schedule: 5-Day Workweek, Midshift Schedule (12:00 PM - 10:00 PM during UK DST or 1:00 PM - 11:00 PM PH Time)

We are seeking an experienced Audit Manager to lead and oversee multiple audit engagements from planning through completion while ensuring exceptional client service and compliance with professional standards. This role is ideal for a proactive audit professional with strong leadership skills, excellent stakeholder management, and extensive experience managing UK audit engagements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage audit engagements from planning through completion, ensuring delivery within agreed timelines and budgets.
  • Develop risk-based audit plans and oversee audit execution in line with current regulatory requirements.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and senior management, providing regular updates on audit progress and key issues.
  • Review financial statements to ensure compliance with UK reporting standards, including required statutory and non-financial disclosures.
  • Monitor engagement budgets, work-in-progress (WIP), and billing schedules to support efficient project delivery.
  • Ensure audit files meet quality standards and are fully prepared for senior management review.
  • Identify opportunities to improve clients' financial processes and internal controls, providing practical recommendations.
  • Manage client onboarding activities, including professional clearance and anti-money laundering (AML) compliance procedures.
  • Support fee discussions, client relationship management, and business development initiatives.
  • Mentor and support junior team members while promoting a collaborative, high-performance culture.

Job Requirements

  • ACA, ACCA, CA, or equivalent professional qualification (or qualified by experience).
  • Proven experience managing UK external audits from planning through completion.
  • Strong understanding of UK GAAP, FRS 102, and the Companies Act (preferred).
  • Experience managing statutory audits for private sector clients, with exposure to charities, academies, or pension schemes considered an advantage.
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills with the ability to build long-term client relationships.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple engagements and competing priorities.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and audit software (CCH experience is an advantage).
